The Greater London Authority (GLA) relies on the Intelligence Unit to provide high quality data and analysis to inform policy and delivery in one of the world’s truly global cities.
You will be part of a 5-person GIS team, using desktop and web-based GIS in creative and innovative ways to help colleagues in the Intelligence Unit, the wider GLA or external partners.
As well as creating engaging visualisations to explain and promote the work of the GLA, you will have the opportunity to work on high profile GIS analysis projects such as the Schools Atlas and the well-regarded London DataStore.
In return, we are looking for someone who is able to think creatively, is comfortable with technical challenges and working with data, is able to learn new skills quickly and importantly has a strong working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.
A key part of the role is to support and help enhance the GIS team’s work with the wider group of 60+ staff who create and use mapping. We are looking for someone who can communicate effectively with staff from other professions at various levels and is keen to be involved in many aspects of GIS work and related projects.
